A runner’s lifeline…
Running Briefs was the RCN newsletter published from 1994 to 2000. Bobbi (Fyten) Mattia and Monte Jordan edited the first few years of this cherished chronicle of the Fairbanks running community until Scott McCrea took over editing duties in 1997. Within these pages you will find stories to delight and inspire you. Read how several new events were developed, many of them continuing today. Read about experiences at outside races in the lower 48 and around the world. In the first issue, Allen Doyle called Running Briefs “a new runners’ lifeline for Fairbanks.” RCN continues as a lifeline between runners today, but the connection with the past is sometimes just as strong. Whether or not you know the people written about in these issues, you will enjoy reading through their stories, sharing their successes, and relating to their dedication.
