Snowshoe Series

This series consists of 7 races held December through March on Fairbanks area trails. Except for the Solstice Snowshoe Shuffle that starts at 11am, all races start at noon on Saturdays and happen regardless of temperature. The races are free and open to anyone who wants to try! You don’t have to be a member of Running Club North, but membership is highly encouraged.

 

We have a few pairs of extra running snowshoes available at each race for loan. They are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Not sure how to dress for running in cold weather? We’ve got information for you. Check out the Running Club North Cold Weather Running page. Alternatively, you can talk to folks in one of the local sporting goods stores. Most employees are active outdoor people who have experience with dressing for being active outdoors in winter. Frosty Feet is a particularly good place for winter runners. Or you can come to one of our many winter running events and ask the other participants. People are happy to share their knowledge. To encourage participation, we will have prize giveaways at the last race of the season. Each time a person participates in a race, they will get one entry for the drawing. Prizes include a pair of snowshoes and goodies from Apocalypse Design, Beaver Sports, Frosty Feet Running Company, House of the Rising Bun, and others!
