Race Directors' Comments

On Sunday June 4th a 6 km Women's Run/Walk was held to benefit the Breast Cancer Detection Center (BCDC) of Alaska. The course followed the UAF ski trails, through the Arboretum, T-field, Equinox trail, and the Bicycle Bumps. 66 men, women, and dogs showed up despite the cold weather, and were treated to a small snow flurry during the race. The race raised over $1000.00 to benefit the BCDC.

Our women runners were led by Alison Meadow (29.56), Jessica Lissow (30.29), and Amy Carroll (30.37). The men were led by Sean Kennedy (23.17), Henry Irving (27.18), and Aram Hobbs (27.33).

We would like to thank Gulliver's Books, and Raven Screens (Great Alaska Shirt Co.) for prize donations, and Equinox Physical Therapy for donating our refreshments.
