Women's Run/Walk 6 Km

On Sundat May 30th a 6 km Women's Run/Walk was held to benefit the Breast Cancer Detection Center. The course followed the UAF ski trails, through the Arboretum and on the T-field. We have over70 participants this year. The weather was wonderful, the trail was fairly dry, and the mosquitos were only bad if you stopped moving. The race raised over $1,000.00 for Breast Cancer awareness. Our women runners were led by thirteen year old Crystal Pitney (29.48), Dorli McWayne (30.12), and Karen Nanseth (30.59).

We would like to thank, Beaver Sports, Alaska Coffee Roasters, Bun on the Run, Hot Licks Homemade Ice Cream, and Gulliver's Books, and the Fartherst North Girl Scout Concil for donating prizes and refreshments.
