Trubacz, Mitchell, Win Cookie Challenge

Joe Trubacz and Michelle Mitchell won their respective divisions in the Two Street Station Cookie Challenge on Saturday. A total of 28 runners slipped and slid their way through the 6.5 mile course, which started and ended at the UAF Patty Center. The top three runners in each division received a dozen cookies from Two Street Station.

Trubacz came in first overall with a time of 40 minutes, 45 seconds, followed by Wayde Leder in 41:44 and Rocky Reifenstuhl in 42:56. Mitchell was fifth overall and the top woman, with a time of 44:40. Kristen Bartecchi was second in 45:17, followed by Jane Lanford in 50:25.

The next even on the Running Club North calendar is the Williams Cup Series Awards Ceremony, which will be held Sat., Oct. 14th at 6p.m. at the Dog Musher's Hall.
