Fairbanks Run For Women

UAF - West Ridge Ski Hut

On Saturday August 25rd, the annual  6 km Fairbanks Run For Women was held
to benefit the Breast Cancer Detection Center (BCDC) of Alaska.  The course
followed the UAF ski trails, through the Arboretum, T-field, Equinox trail,
and the Bicycle Bumps- and is actually closer to 6.5 km.  35 men, women,
and dogs showed up for a perfect day to be out running and walking on the
trails.  The race raised almost $800.00 to benefit the BCDC.

Our women runners were led by Laura Brosius (27.32)- with a new fastest
women’s time, Laura Gutierrez (37.06), and Sushelia Khera (37.08).  The men
were led by Heath Robertson (31.35), Nicolas Stoucs (31.57), and Keith
Pollock (32.39).  Our youngest runner was Julia Mayer age 9 (40.03).

We would like to thank Equinox Physical Therapy and NAMI of Fairbanks for
donating prizes and refreshments.
