Beat Beethoven 5K
|Clear and sunny||+20° F||Light breeze||Mostly bare pavement with lots of icy areas|

It was a clear and sunny morning, warmer than forecast with temperatures in the low to mid-20's and no northerly wind; another good day for a spring 5K. The course was spotty this year, with clearly south-facing areas generally ice- and snow-free, and the rest of the course kept your continual attention. But you did need to keep your eyes open for unexpected ice! Chad Carroll won the race with a time of 17:25; Wayde Leder at 17:53 and Devin McDowell at 18:22 rounded out the top three. Michelle Mitchell won the women's division with a time of 19:53; she was followed closely by Jane LeBlond at 20:08 and Kat Betters at 20:32. And for the second year in a row, according to this morning's News-Miner, the first geese arrived in the Delta area yesterday, which should put them in Creamer's Field within the week.
