The Conductor

It was a far cry from last year's 40 degree + temperatures, that greeted runners in Fairbanks this morning. With temperatures in the mid-teens, and a slight breeze, the only thing that detracted from the winter scene, was the bright sunshine. Glare ice, with a thin covering of snow, in the parking lots, sidewalks and patchy on the roads, made the going cautious for most runners. And this years times show that. Mike Kramer won the 3-way sprint to the finish and was overall winner; Michelle Mitchell won the women's race. And, yes, the geese have not yet returned to Fairbanks this year either, but are again rumored to be within 100 miles, on the ground in Delta.
