Running Club North (RCN) seeks a Race Director for the 2026 Gold Discovery Run, scheduled for July 19, 2026. The 60th running of this iconic 16-mile hybrid trail/pavement event will take participants from Fort Knox north of Fairbanks to the Silver Gulch area in Fox.
Race Director duties will include responding to participant queries, managing registration and race timing, marking the course, identifying and orienting race volunteers, liaising with affected property owners, race publicity, and identifying and managing buses transporting participants from Silver Gulch to Fort Knox.
The Race Director will receive a modest contractor’s fee and be self-employed, reporting to the RCN Board. Work will start in early- to mid-May and peak in July. Interested candidates should submit a brief resume, highlighting race management experience, and a cover letter explaining their interest. The closing date is March 20, 2026.
