Hi fellow runners and friends,
The track season will be upon us before you know it and Running Club North is looking for a volunteer coordinator for the spring high school track and field meets this coming April-May. Kuba Grzeda has stepped down after many years of invaluable time and energy and we are looking to fill that position. RCN has officiated the high school track meets for several decades providing a great service to young runners and the community. The need for a Volunteer Coordinator is a critical part in supporting this effort. Please consider helping to support the next generation of runners!
The Volunteer Coordinator has two main duties: 1)secure volunteers for the track meets and 2)coordinate those volunteers in officiating the various events at the meets. There’s a dedicated, long-serving volunteer core that makes a lot of the key responsibilities go smoothly and are willing to work closely with the new person in the transition.
The track season consists(tentative schedule for this year) of 4 meets. The first two meets are on Saturdays only where RCN provides timing services which is a relatively small volunteer need. The remaining two meets are Friday afternoon and Saturday and require many volunteers.
The Volunteer Coordinator uses email, text, Facebook, RCN website, etc, to get volunteers and comes to all the meets as the lead person in coordinating volunteers to assigned events. It’s a very rewarding position that gets you close to some of the best track and field events in the state. There is a stipend available.
Please let me know if you have interest or questions about the position. You may email me at Track@runningclubnorth.org.
Thank you for your interest and looking forward to working with YOU!
