The 2021 Two-Way Torture Test will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 10:00 am.

Teams of two runners complete the 13.1-mile Chena-Ridge-(plus Spur)-Chena-Pump Loops in opposite directions starting and finishing at the Pump House. We will offer 9am start if racers request it. Both teammates must start at the same time, and teams who hope to win their division must start with their assigned wave at or after 10am. Waves to be determined based on registration numbers.

By registering for this event, they agree to follow all of the below guidelines.
All participants will practice social distancing of at least 6 feet with any people outside of their household. Flour will be used to indicate where to stand in the start area to indicate appropriate spacing.
They will be expected to wear masks when within 6 feet of others in the start/finish area. Wearing a mask during the event will be at participant discretion.
All participants will pre-register in an online format and will be required to sign a virtual waiver. This registration must be completed no later than Friday, May 28 at 11:59am. Contact the race director at 907-978-4481 or burrlike@gmail.com with questions or concerns or help registering.
Wave start will be implemented IF registration numbers require it. We will allow early start at 9am for participants who specifically request it – though potential winning teams must start in their assigned wave at or after 10am, as determined based on registration numbers.
We ask that participants bring their own bibs and safety pins (perhaps lucky ones from a past race!). Fresh bibs and safety pins will be available to those who request them. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your wave start to report your bib number/pick up a fresh bib.
Individual sanitizer bottles will be offered to all participants before the start.
They need to carry their own fluids and fuel and bring their own recovery drinks, water and food items.
Participants will not share fluids, gels, or other items with people outside of their own household.
Participants will avoid spitting, blowing snot rockets, or purposely expressing bodily fluids during the event. Those needing to get rid of snot during the event should carry tissues, a handkerchief, or small towel and a small bottle of sanitizer to use after. Participants will carry with them and dispose of any tissues, wrappers, single-use bottles, or other waste in appropriate trash receptacles.
Closely grouped selfies or group photos will be discouraged. We will encourage participants to leave the finish area once their team has finished the race. Prizes (gift certificates for dine-in or takeout at The Pump House and Frosty Feet items!) will be mailed or available for pick-up at Frosty Feet the following week.
Spectators (beyond the volunteers) are rare at this event, but this year they are not encouraged.
Again, they need to bring their own fluids and fuel, dress in bright colors/hi-viz, plan for social distancing, and bring masks for before/during/after.
Further, participants and volunteers must take responsibility for the safety of themselves and others and MUST to stay home if they feel ill, if they are awaiting COVID-19 or other infectious disease test results, if they have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 10 days, or if they have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the previous 14 days without a subsequent negative test.
