Looking for a new place to run? Want to know where the next race goes? Have a favorite route you’d like to share with other runners? Check out the new Route Maps page on our website under the News & Info menu. We have maps for several routes available now, but we hope that will grow considerably with your contributions. We’d like to get maps for as many local races as possible as well as fun and interesting places to run that are more off the beaten track. Our goal is to make it useful for local runners looking for a new training run as well as visitors looking for a place nearby to run while they’re in town.

The routes are displayed in Google Maps so you can zoom in and out or add satellite imagery. You can also export the underlying KML file for a route and import it into Google Earth where you can measure distances, create an elevation profile, view it in 3D, and more. When you’re ready to submit a route, just click the button on the map page to go to the submission form. All you need is a KML file of the route which you can get from your Garmin or other GPS device or, if you don’t have that, you can create one from Google Earth.

To race directors: Submit a KML file of your race and we can add it to our repository. Each route generates a unique URL so you can use it with your race description in our calendar or other advertising you do for your event. People always want to know what the route will be so give them an interactive map to play with.
